About this course

This course is all about learning how to use your right hand to finger-pick on the guitar. This course focuses on a musical idea (or texture) called arpeggio. Arpeggio just refers to playing a chord one note a time. If you want to boil it down to one idea, this course is about using different right hand picking/playing patterns to make music.

The course includes over 2 hours of video lesson that you can watch as many times as you like (maybe if you finish House of Cards and you get bored). There are also PDF files of the musical examples written out in standard notation and guitar tab (no note-reading required).

The course is structured so that you follow the lessons in order, or you can skip around. The lessons do get more advanced (I don't necessarily want to say harder), so make sure your solid on the earlier material before skipping to the end.

This a great course to take if your a guitarist who's thinking, "How do I use my fingers in the best way when I'm finger-picking on the guitar?" This course will help de-mystify guitar technique and get you going making music right away.

What are the requirements?

  • You'll need a guitar (you probably figured that one out). Any type of guitar will do, but an acoustic guitar would be best. Other than that, all you need is a device that'll let you see and hear the videos and see the guitar tabs. Also, you'll need a quiet place to practice.
  • Also I think you'll enjoy the course more if you have some coffee. I say that just because I enjoy everything more with coffee.

What am I going to get from this course?

  • Over 20 lectures and 2.5 hours of content!
  • By the end of the course, you'll now what an arpeggio is and you'll be able to use multiple techniques to play arpeggios on the guitar.
  • If you go through all the lessons, you'l learn to play a bunch of studies, but maybe even more importantly, you'll have ideas for making your own music.
  • Basically this course is about giving you tools to make music, and ultimately it's going to be up to you to figure out how to use them.

What is the target audience?

  • Any guitarist who is looking to get better at using their right hand to finger-pick.
  • This course probably isn't the best for someone who is an absolute beginner, but if you've playing fora little while already you'll be fine.
