ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born in Milan from Venetian parents, Lorenzo Barichella is an Italian sommelier of A.I.S. (Italian Sommelier Association) and the founder of THE WINE NOTARY which is a company which provides training and selection of wines all over the world and DiVino Sapere which is an independent Italian wine tasting school.
After having graduated at A.I.S. many years ago and having worked with wines with great enjoyment, he has always preferred to interact with the audience by developing a simple teaching method and an extremely easy wine tasting system.
This system is now available in English through this video-course and also through the Wine Tasting Essentials manual which represent a very quick and innovative way to become a real wine taster in a very short time.
What are the requirements?
- No previous knowledge is required. This course in a kind of shortcut to take you from a curious/Beginner Level to an advanced/Expert Level. The only real suggestion, in order to make this experience successful and meaningful, is not to deal with low quality wines. Low quality or cheesy wines would only distorce your perception and make yopur efforts vain. The big risk is that you won't understand most part of the course as you won't have the right tools to transform your knowledge into a real practice and skill. No matter where a wine comes from, what really matters is that it must be made with passion and hard work. I honestly suggest not to ever buy or taste anything under $5 per bottle.
What am I going to get from this course?
- Over 11 lectures and 1.5 hours of content!
- Recognize and taste every kind of wine with the help of the wine tasting form and the table with the correct termonology, but with the practice the form won't be needed anymore as the tasting will easily become automatic and instinctive. The course al so provides a broad knowledge about wines, European rules and appellation with a particular overview of Italian wines because of their unicity due to the kind of grapes used. The production method of every wine, the knowledge about the service and the right condition to taste and enjoy the wine, the ways to produces wines and the and information about the life of the grapevines. The methods of a successful combination with food as well as many tips and tricks to become a great and confident wine taster. All of this through an accurate synthersis not to bore the students as the video shows all that is needed in nearly 1,5 hours.
What is the target audience?
- Everybody who wants to enter the world of fine wines, no matter if it's just for passion or for work. The course is complete and it really provides the technique to be able to deal with every wine. The course is suitable for everybody and especially for beginners, but it is also suitable for experts who need to quickly refresh their knowledge. As wine is an alcoholic product, only underage people are discouraged to follow this course.
