Unit 1: Developing self

This unit helps learners reflect on their own personal development by identifying their own personal strengths and recognising how their personal skills and behaviours could be improved.

Unit 2: Dealing with problems in daily life

Learners will look at identifying straightforward problems, problem solving and the skills they need to tackle problems in their daily lives.

Unit 3: Individual rights and responsibilities

This unit provides learners with an understanding of their rights and responsibilities as an individual, the potential barriers to accessing their individual rights and the sources of help available.

Unit 4: Working towards goals

Learners will look at personal goal setting, considering personal development plans and working towards and achieving those goals appropriately.

Unit 5: Making the most of leisure time

This unit encourages learners to think about how they use their leisure time and express their preference of leisure activities so that they can use their leisure time effectively.

Unit 6: Managing social relationships

This unit looks at social relationships, social behaviour and social communication to encourage learners to use appropriate behaviours when interacting with others.

Unit 7: Preparation for work

Learners will identify personal information needed for a job application by thinking about their own skills and qualities in relation to the workplace and looking at job searching.

Unit 8: Working as part of a group

This unit will help learners develop the skills to contribute effectively when working with others on a group activity, by looking at ground rules, feedback and reviewing group progress.
