This course covers all aspects of health and safety, from risk assessments to fire safety. The course enables a learner to progress in a role where health and safety exists or is part of their responsibility.

Unit 1: Health and safety in the workplace
In this unit, learners will understand the roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace, and will look at how risk assessment contributes to health and safety and identify how to control risks.
Unit 2: Fire safety principles
Learners will understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace, and how to control and reduce these risks.
Unit 3: DSE risk assessment
This unit covers the importance of Display Screen Equipment (DSE) risk assessments and the principles of controlling risks to health from workstation design and use.
Unit 4: COSHH risk assessment
Learners will understand the importance of controlling substances hazardous to health, as well as learning about the main types of hazardous substances that are relevant to the workplace.
Unit 5: Manual handling safety at work
In this unit, learners will understand the reasons for safe handling and how manual handling risk assessments contribute to health and safety.
