About this course
Our Dental Assistant Specialist program will teach students how to maintain the bookkeeping and various paperwork of the dental office while also teaching students how to assist the dentist.
Computer Basics: Digital Literacy
In this fast paced world of technology, it is important to be computer literate. Computer Basics gives students a better understanding of computers and many fascinating components of the digital world. This course introduces learners to basic hardware, such as traditional desktops, tablets and mobile applications. We will take a look at different types of browsers, tools that can enhance productivity, data storage options and proper internet searching techniques. This course will provide students with a solid framework of knowledge to enhance digital literacy skills, as well as ways to stay current with changes in technology.

Dental assistant jobs can vary from office to office, but generally a dental assistant can help sterilize equipment, prepare dental instruments, locate patient records, help patients keep comfortable and assist the dentist during procedures.

Dental Office Assistant
The Dental Office Assistant course delivers all the latest information and skills practice you need to succeed in the paperless era: technology, forms, and equipment in use today; up-to-date coding information; HIPAA and OSHA guidelines; functions of the dental business office; communication and critical thinking exercises. An in-depth look into completing common tasks such as scheduling, bookkeeping, electronic record regulations and insurance coding is also provided. Our course also includes the companion workbook for the text: The Administrative Dental Assistant and the latest version of Dentrix Learning CD-ROM, which provides an interactive and realistic look at the dental office environment.
