About this course
Children's development is a complex process involving both internal and external influence. Children's friends, teachers, parents, and the society they are born into create a world that influences every stage of development. This course will explore Bronfenbrenner's ecological model, looking at the five interlocking systems affecting children's development. In addition, this course will discuss how children are socialized both intentionally and unintentionally, the importance of fostering early socialization, and the impact of historical and ongoing events on children's development.
