About this course

The objective of our Online A-Level Citizenship Study Course to develop student's understanding of how law and politics work in practice, how individuals and communities are affected by inequalities and how society makes decisions. The student will develop an understanding of democracy and decision making. The student will also learn to think independently and acquire skills to contribute to debates.

    The course contains a number of assignments which your tutor will mark and give the student valuable feedback on. These are called Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs).

    Examinations

    AS Level

    • Unit 1: CIST1 Identity, Rights and Responsibilities- Written paper: 1 hour 15 minutes
    • Unit 2: CIST2 Democracy, Active Citizenship and Participation- Written paper: 1 hour 30 minutes

    A2 Level

    • Unit 3: CIST3 Power and Justice- Written paper: 1 hour 30 minutes
    • Unit 4: CIST4 Global Issues and Making a Difference- Written paper: 1 hour 30 minutes

    AS + A2 = A level in Citizenship Studies. Both AS and A2 level courses and examinations must be successfully completed to gain a full A level.
