Unfortunately for the world, this year’s presidential election isn’t looking too hot and the most likely candidates for the presidency seem to be pretty much despised by everyone, resulting in just about every Republican and Democrat voter being united for the first time ever.
Donald Trump doesn’t seem to be the nicest guy on earth, or even close, nor does he seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. We thought we’d do a bit of digging on this rather unusual character and bring you eight facts about Donald Trump that you might not know.
1. Donald Trump and Rape Charge
Donald Trump was accused of rape and violent assault in 1989 by his wife Ivana. Her divorce settlement stipulates that she isn’t allowed to discuss her marriage with him without consent and while we can’t say if the accusations are true we’re pretty sure that is a stipulation created by a man with something to hide.
2. Donald Trump on Twitter
He is now averaging 67,000 new twitter followers a month. It might be due to the old age adage of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. He certainly makes some entertaining, if not disgraceful remarks and people like to know what the latest is.
3. Donald Trump on Immigration
Donald Trump takes quite a strong stance on immigration and has made comments stating that all Mexicans that come to America are rapists and murderers and has made vows to keep all Muslims out of the country. Obviously he is forgetting that his Mother came to the USA from Scotland and that his paternal Grandparents emigrated from Germany.
4. Donald Trump Flip Flops
Mr Trump has previously supported the Democrats financially, as well as the Republicans.
5. Drink and drugs
Donald Trump claims to have never drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes or taken drugs. This is due to the fact that his brother, Fred, was an alcoholic who ultimately died due to his addiction.
6. The Apprentice
The potential president has his own star on the Hollywood walk of fame. This was for his role as producer on NBC’s The Apprentice. He is the 2,327th celebrity to have a star there.
7. Donald Trump Vodka
Despite not drinking due to his brother’s alcoholism and untimely death, this didn’t stop Trump from feeling he could make a bit of cash from those who do like a drink and he released his own brand of Vodka. He never tried the drink himself, but maybe he should have. In the end consumers liked it as much as he did and production was stopped in 2011.
8. Handshakes and germs
Donald Trump is a Germaphobe. No, this doesn’t mean he objects to his German heritage, it just means he really doesn’t like germs and objects to shaking hands.
Mr Trump certainly is a character and his election for president would certainly make for interesting, and possibly a little terrifying, times ahead.
