PAT Testing

The PAT testing course (Portable Appliance Testing) includes inspection and testing of electrical equipment and management requirements for the maintenance of electrical equipment. The second course enables delegates with administrative responsibility for the testing and inspection of electrical equipment to gain a qualification suitable to their job role.

The PAT testing course can be undertaken by both experienced electricians and those with non-electrical backgrounds.

According to the Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989, all electrical equipment in a commercial environment is required to be tested by a competent person to ensure it is safe to use and has been marked safe.

The PAT testing course consist of mostly theory with some parts involving practical training.
