Our Beginner’s Guide to Computers course is designed to assist you in understanding how your computer works using Windows 8.1. This course will introduce you to methods of managing and accomplishing many day-to-day tasks, whether at home or in the office. Our course will show you how to access the internet and how to communicate online. We will cover some fun and useful things you can do with your PC as well, such as saving and sharing photos, and much more. Finally, ways of performing preventive maintenance and handling common problems will be identified.

Once you become familiar, then you are ready to learn how the hardware and software work together with the new Windows 8.1 interface. We will explore some amazing things you never thought your PC could do.

Beginner’s Guide to Computers Module 2 Chapters 8 – 15 Using the Internet
Once we have identified the different parts that make PCs work, we will move right into connecting other devices to your PC. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to print out a picture of that special someone? Our PC’s can be used in so many ways, such as storing information or images, to name just a couple. In module two we will discuss where to shop, how to find the right store online, and how to browse through different products to find just what you’re looking for!

Beginner’s Guide to Computers Module 3 Chapters 16 – 23 Working with Apps
As we move onto module three, we will explain how to send and receive emails and how to set up video chatting. We will also explore how to communicate with and add new contacts. In this module we will explore the Windows Store, and learn how to find and choose from a variety of “apps”, as well as the different types of apps available.

Beginner’s Guide to Computers Module 4 Chapters 24 –30 Doing Fun and Useful Things With Your PC
Module four will focus on how to perform common, every-day work-related tasks, such as writing letters, memos or reports, and even discuss how to put together a mini presentation by using the most popular office suite available today. Organization in our work is very important, and that is especially true when it comes to our PC. We will also look at fun topics such as watching movies, current or classic TV shows, stream music, and so much more.
