About this course
Cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, is a combination of focusing on thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Cognitive behavioral therapies attempt to understand what triggers and reinforces thinking and behaviors related to the presenting problems. CBT is the most widely used therapy today, based upon well-established learning theory with concrete, identifiable procedures and goals. This course will discuss the development of CBT, key concepts and treatment methods, and the research support for CBT as a therapy style as well as its major applications.
