About this course
Gestalt therapists look at the whole person, made up of various traits and characteristics that form one integrated self. As we age, we are challenged to take increasing levels of responsibility and learn how to meet our own needs while respecting those of others. Gestalt theory focuses on what is experienced in the present moment with an emphasis on taking responsibility for where our lives are headed. This course will discuss the major assumptions of Gestalt therapy, essential elements of the counseling relationship, applications of Gestalt therapy, research findings, and how to integrate Gestalt therapy with other approaches.
