MMMS02 The Structure of Language

The organization of language helps to understand and appreciate how children accomplish what they do in just a few years. Proficiency in language does not require speakers to have a conscious knowledge of the formal structure of language. The infant brain has the capacity to acquire all of the structures of any language spoken on earth. This course will take a look at how children acquire the structures of language as well as how linguists understand the complex structures of language.
