Our students taking this course will learn strategies for improving their informational writing as well as improving upon their creative work. The course provides instruction on writing accurate and clear business letters, memos, and reports. Topics will cover mechanics such as sentence structure, punctuation, and how to avoid wordiness in informational writing. Students will also learn how to enhance their creative writing by building character and plot, among many other things

This module focuses on writing mechanics. It addresses many common mistakes that writers make when writing for informational purposes.

Module two is a continuation of module one. Included is using active voice and eliminating wordiness while writing. Sometimes writers take too long to get their point across. This module will look at writing to avoid vague qualifiers and use of prepositions to get to the point.

Write Better Module 3 Creating Writing
This module will teach students how to improve upon their creative writing. Students will learn techniques for making their creative writing more interesting to the reader. There is an emphasis on storytelling devices.

Write Better Module 4 Get Descriptive!
This module is a continuation of module three. It addresses techniques that writers can use to improve their creative writing and storytelling. Students will learn how to be more descriptive in their writing by learning about useful storytelling devices. There is also a helpful style guide provided in the textbook that students can use as a reference when they encounter tricky style decisions such as when to use apostrophes and how to use commas correctly.

After completing the Write Better course
