The plumbing level 3 course is for people who have simple or basic plumbing knowledge either through work experience or have undertaken a recognised basic plumbing course such as plumbing DIY course and/or plumbing level 2 course (on this site). Undertaking level 3 will prepare the student for the exam leading to the City & Guilds 6189 NVQ.
As with all building trades, the plumbing industry is standardised and tightly regulated. Having recognised training and qualifications is a must to achieve your dream of becoming a professional plumber. The plumbing level 3 course will prepare you to learn beyond the basics and is designed as a set of plumbing courses that will enable you to become a fully qualified professional plumber. The course curriculum will include more advanced processes and concepts in plumbing such as complex systems and designs, environmental technology, gas technology, cold and hot water systems, sanitation and drainage.
Students will learn to carry out electrical work on domestic plumbing and heating systems, install and service cold and hot water systems, install and service domestic central heating systems.

The plumbing level 3 course is available full time or part time, onsite or online or a combination of both.
Who is the plumbing level 3 course aimed at?
The plumbing level 3 course is for people who want to further along their education as a plumber and/or to achieve recognised plumbing qualifications. While there is no pre-requisite that you undertake levels 1 through 2 before taking level 3, you would still have to successfully pass the exam for City & Guilds 6035 qualification before sitting for the City & Guilds 6189 NVQ.
